I seem to be stuck in a cycle of errors here. I started up my computer this morning, and as soon as I got to the desktop this error came up. OK, I thought; got this a few times before, so I clicked Close. However, as soon as explorer had reloaded the error came up again - clicked Close, it came up again.
What on earth could be causing this, and how can I stop it? I didn't touch anything, it just sort of...appeared wassat.gif

Don't take this the wrong way, but did you read what my problem actually was? wassat.gif

Quick update, I've run an Error Check on the disk and that doesn't seem to have solved it. Damn damn damn damn. I really need some help here :'(

Tools --> Folder Options --> View --> Launch folder windows in a seperate process.

Try to revert to the default theme and see if it helps. Look at your running processes and see if there is anything thats hogging the cpu/memory. Might want to theck for spyware also.

Crashs of Windows Explorer are often caused by buggy context menu shell extensions.

Maybe you've installed one program lately which adds itself to the Windows Explorer context menu? If so, just try to deinstall this program and see if it solves your problems.

Click here where it says "click here", and Google the exact error that appears.

I've run a virus scan with AVG Antivirus and it's turned up 2 virus'. However, it says it is unable to delete, move to Virus Vault or Heal those files. Thanks AVG getlost.gif

Also, here is the info I get if I click on Click Here. I've googled it and it has turned up little information, apart from the fact it is a Windows system file.

Sorry for the double post, but I've uninstalled pretty much everything I can think of that would intefere with it, and I can't see anything in my Processes tab that's hogging all the CPU or looks out of place. Any ideas? :'(

Again, click where it says "click here" and Google the result. tongue.gif

If you can, back up your files...
It might be time for a clean install sad.gif

Yay, fixed it! biggrin.gif

I downloaded Panda AntiVirus and it told me I had 4 or 5 virus which AVG didn't pick up on. Deleted those files and the problem seems to be gone. The only thing is that Panda stops me accessing the internet (no idea why) so I had to uninstall it.
Thanks for all your help folks original.gif
