Anyone played Bridge Builder before? I mean the original version.
Get the Demo
Here ... There is only one version, and its called a demo for some reason. There are 15 bridges, you will see 7 when you start the game, but after you finish them, the other will be playable.
Fun game, and takes some thinking, have fun, and lets see who is a better designer and engineer,

.
One of my bridges, Level 6:

Looks interesting, but when it goes into fullscreen all of the text is jumbled up into squigly lines. I'd like to play this but it's not very functional. (XP SP2)

Works fine on my PC (XP SP1)
I remember playing this a couple of years back, it gets rather difficult towards the later levels - good way to waste the morning though...

What a load of utter crap, I started it and a) it scrolled rediculously fast, too fast to be practical and b) it then threw an exception and screwed up Windows so incredibly badly I couldn't use the mouse, task manager, use alt+tab to move any window in front of it, and eventually I had to logoff to get rid of that crap.

I've tested this game on a bunch of systems, running XP, and 2k. I had this game working on my system, running Win2k, WinXP, and WinXP SP1 and WinXP SP2.
and uranulalien, I think your OS has some issues.

My system works fine for most stuff. All it shows is that the author didn't think ahead when planning his game for the full variety of system configurations and platforms.

this game was made in 2000, win2k was just fresh back then.
Try it again, maybe something was just not working right the first time.

Well it works fine on my WinXP SP2, so it looks like it is your fault. Not the game.
It's not the software's fault if it doesn't work on only your computer.

Uh. Actually scrolling speed issues are found in tons of old games, and it's caused by the speed of the computer. That's not exactly my fault, is it?

http://bridgecontest.usma.edu/download.htmMy father introduced me to that program a long, long time ago (he's a structural engineer.) Back in the day, we used it with Windows 3.1 to produce some of the best pasta bridges my school had ever seen!

Such a funny coincidence for me this is.

Yep.

... I'll give a small tip bellow. Should take it as a spoiler.
you obviously need to build the bridge going a bit up, but you can't in the game. So think about physics here, what does weight do to the bridge if its placed right?

Quite nicely done. I have been trying it, but without the part to the right. Maybe that was my problem.

Level is is one of the hardest bridge. You don't have a lot of money, and the layout is hard. Share a screenshot when you finish it.
