Full Version: One Member ID, several Handles for Forums

Christophe
I posted earlier in what I think is the wrong forums and with a wrong title...so I am trying this here too.

Do any of you have a functionality where Members are able to choose a Handle the same way you change your avatar picture? What I mean by Handle is the ID they are posting as.

Let me explain as this is not obvious at first:
At the moment you register an account with login/password/email address and it has to be unique. For my example I will have people that need to have the same Handle. This is the same thing you can find on the World of Warcraft forums. You have a unique ID but you are able to choose a Handle with which to post to the forums as.

You could post on ForumA as John Doe and on ForumB as Jane but still be registered as member Eric@southpark.com with login Eric pass Cartman and a unique ID number. The reason for this is because we need to make a rather large Guild forum. This guild spawns several servers and many people/members have same handles.

You would register as whatever you want, then enter a server name and a guild name then finally your Handle. It would make an account ID something like that:
Login:login
Password: pass
Guild: guildA
Server: ServerC
Handle(s): Kyle, Stan, Kenny, Eric

So on the main forum you would have one Kenny on ServerC from GuildA with unique login/pass BUT you can also have another Kenny from ServerD being a different person.

The reason why I am looking to get somethin like this is because in our case there are millions of players...some have the same handles and shouldn t have to post in forums under something like RandomAvaillableName123 instead of their right Handle because someone registred it before them. Anybody aware of a mod like this?

I am even thinking of paying for this either from IPB or outside...so recommendations and offers are welcome. (Very serious question and offer as I have a budget for this)
