How do you build your Photoshop files for buttons?

What I do is I create a layer set for all of the text layers that I use, this ensures that I won't forget any of them down the road if I change the way the button looks and I get to see what the button looks like, then a layer set for the button because I usually have different-colored versions of the button, and then a layer set for example backgrounds, usually a black and a white layer. Anything else works around this structure, like maybe snow for holiday versions goes in a layer set on the top named 'Decals'.

Actualy I do it the same way as you do!

It's the most flexible way to make buttons that I have found so far...

Grouping layers like this also makes the .pdf files self-documenting.
Even after months you can quickly see what you were doing. Making adjustments/improvments is quick and easy. original.gif
