Just wondering, how long have you been in the business, and what programming slash scripting languages would you say that you know? Within a few months I turn 18, and I really couldn't see myself working in any other field. No more boring you with my life story, thanks for any information. original.gif

I've been doing this stuff about four years now, the first year for fun and the last three years professionally. I know zip about scripting, I do all my websites in Frontpage 2002, very rarely have to go into html mode to edit coding itself. I use Photoshop 6.0 for all my graphics, I use Adobe Imageready 3.0 to create my navigational systems with or without mouseover effects (automatically handles all the javascripting).

Basically I used antiquated software, and get by fine. If I handle a project that requires coding or database work, I outsource to a friend or associate.

Gee for like... 8 years now... lol

I started off as an html dork a long time ago and eventually worked my way to the point where I started learning php. I still don't do professional work, but I spend more time working on my own little projects anyways so original.gif

I know php, a little vb/vbscript, a little c# (not much though, still learning that), of course html, some javascript.

3 years here, I know XHTML, CSS, PHP, some Perl, JavaScript, DHTML and a little bit of Python.

Just under 5 years here. (X)HTML, CSS, PHP, ASP, mySQL, JavaScript, VBScript, some Java, XML, Perl and C. Currently learning ASP.NET/C#.NET/VB.NET. I'm not an artistic/graphical person which is why I stick to the coding. I have "worked professionally" in the industry for 8 months now, and just over 2 years with IPS. The sites I produce are standards compliant as well as cross browser, WCAG AA standard and meet the legal requirements of both the UK (DDA) and the US (Section 508).

I have been a "Professional (getting paid)" web developer for almost two years (in October)

I am skilled in web standards and compliance, cross browser compatibility, color theory, html, xhtml, xml, css, js, php, perl, mysql, flash, photoshop and illustrator.

I also have an attitude that every project, and day is a new learning experience.

I've been doing this stuff since I was 13/14. However, I've been doing it professionally for a Fortune 500 company for about 4-5 years (since I was 17).

I know all of the basic web technologies. As far as programming languages and web platforms, I know ASP(vbscript), ASP.NET(C#,VB.NET), PHP, Perl, and quite a few others.

if professional is paid, then ive done one or two paid jobs..

i can use XHTML, CSS, PHP, SQL. my php isnt anything amazing, but its of sufficient quality to make large dynamic websites.

im doing a course in C (ansi) programming at uni. i also which to learn some C#, and VB. ive done some javascript, but its not anything exciting to be honest.

my website developments are all a hobbies. my programming is hobbies, but i wish to use it to add to my cv and compliment my degree

For only two years experience you are amazing tongue.gif

I have been learning on and off for about 4 years. I tend to wonder a bit. I know PHP, HTML, CSS and mySQL. Learning new things in each language everyday though. I have done one paid job original.gif I can really think of myself doing any other work which isn't web-based, but who knows what I will do wink.gif

Thank you, I appreciate the compliment. Not yet amazing, but hopefully getting there.

The only "professional" job I've ever done was with my older brother (graphical desginer), for an art gallery website. Everything else I've done was for my site/community.

I'm 15, and started learning HTML around two years ago. I know (X)HTML/XML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, SQL. Currently I'm reading up on some XML based languages like XSL/SVG etc.
