On one of my forums the server load just displays as -- is that because the resources used are so low? or is there a bug in my installation,
THanks,
Michael

This is because the load is to low to be registered. It should be picked up when the load increases. Nothing to worry about ...

Set a server load in the ACP, and it will then display the load.

I believe this doesn't work on Windows servers, or at least some platforms anyway.

Linux only.

In 1.3 it won't display unless you put a server load limit in the ACP like someone said, I just set it to something silly that will never be reached like 200. The only other thing I can think of is if you're using Windows the server load is not read.
Some servers even Linux don't have this switched on - I have a dedicated server with one and one, on Linux but this doesn't display. It's been looked into and it's just a case of it not being enabled on the server settings

Okay, well I have never had a limit set and mine has always shown if the load is great enough. Running freebsd 5.3 now, was running 4.8 on 1.3

Where does this server load thing show up at? Is it the cute little set of status icons like on the bottom of these forums? I can't find it anywhere I've looked so far.

ooooooo.. I see the icons in the install package.. how do I get this to show up on my forums?

go to admin cp >> view all general settings >> general configuration
find debug level then select 1: show server load.......
then click on update settings

I have just installed IPB 2.0.4 on my SuSE Linux Server.
What do I have to do to see the server load instead of "--" that I see now?
I tried to set a server load limit, but it did not change.
Thanks…

Set the server load limit to something like 50 - and it should work.
Also keep in mind for those Windows people, it will ALWAYS say --

I already changed the server load limit, but the server load still says --
Maybe I have to change some settings of my Server?

is your server a windows box? also, check what the server load is in some sort of control panel app like cPanel or Plesk.

200 is not so silly. I've hit that many times. Usually because mysql went tits up and is locking or just stuck on a query and everyone backs up waiting. Had my session table deadlock yesterday :/

depending on the amount of cpu's u have 200 can be ok...but i dont think any server is offered with 200 cpu's
