I know we can have test boards, but put our number in it or what do we do so IPS know its not an illeagle board? I want to set one up so I can convert that board first when 2.1 comes before my real one.

Good point... I just recently got mine and installed... then wanted to install a test board for hacks/mods...I installed anither copy on my test server and treid to enter my key but got an error...

Now..do i "need" the license for this as its only a test board?...noone sees it but me.. i mean i assume everything works without the key just fine...right?

*edit..slack got in just before my post original.gif

You don't have to put your license key in for test board. You have to disable registrations, so no-one ese can join, or install it locally so only you can access it.
I think thats right biggrin.gif

Edit: Spelling.

is it ok if I let a few people join and also make some test users so they can help me out look for errors in differnt places?

I think thats ok. Not sure.
You can run a test board as long as it is not used to maintain an active community.

I want to copy my board to a test location, so I can see the effect of changes to my current setup. If I do that my license key is allready entered, is this OK? Or should I remove it from the test board as soon as its online?
Luke
1) It would be a good idea NOT to enter your key in your test board. Enter it into your final board.
2) A test board has to be private. You can have a few people help you test it, or whatever. Just use common sense.
3) When I have a test board I place a "Robots.txt" and block all spiders to make sure it stays private.
4) It's a good idea to have registration off if you arnt testing that function.
Michael P
OK Ill upload it to the test location, login and remove the key.

Are Gallery and Blogs allowed on test board?
princetontiger
i assume anything is allowed on a test board, so long as you do not solicit the link to anyone.
