Hello !

Do you think it could be possible to have prices in Euros for IPS products ?

Thank you !

Hello André,

Then they would have to do the same for each currency wink.gif

Hello,

It really isn't possible to accept Euros. As pointed out we would need to have prices in every other foreign currency and that would just get confusing. It's really easy to convert the currency into USD by using an online currency convertor.
Debbie
I recommend you use something like: http://www.xe.com/ucc/ if you want to convert Dollars into Euros in order to find out exactly what you are paying in your own currency.

You must remember though that the amounts can vary on a day to day basis.
elj
That convertor is a really accurate one, though - it tends to only change by small amounts on a day-to-day basis.

Hello !

Thank you for your answers original.gif

In fact, I saw a web site where products were sold with prices with a few foreign currencies (not all).
But actually, I was wondering if it would be possible to have a non-changing price if we paid in our currency. original.gif
elj
They've got a lot of UK customers, and we (UK) just get it changed via exchange rates from USD - so I think it's very doubtful.
Antony
Yes, if they were going to have prices in euros it would only be fair that they had prices in Pounds.

Usually price variations are a matter of pence, so just convert the currency on the day your going to make a purchase. Anyway, this is good as the Dollar is doing really badly at the moment, and the pound is really strong. biggrin.gif

Yes. At the moment, it's interesting for me too. But it can change...

I read a post by Matt (quite a while back) saying he hates it, because he gets paid in USD...

Exchange rates tend to fluctuate and XE.com doesn't call the shots. wink.gif
elj
Maybe I stated that wrong... it seems to be more accurate at changing *when* the exchange rates do. wink.gif

Nop it won't, the UK should have voted yes for the euro, cause they didn't, they also should not complain when the Euro is accepted and the Pound is not :+.
elj
Of course, this is a US-based company, and as such, prices will be in USD. If prices are stated as fixed prices in other currencies, then IPS will simply loose out as the exchange rates alter.

Is it? I thought IPS origin was UK, wrong thought though..

Not fair! IPS should become a British company. *Glares at Charles*

The company is oficially registered in the US and that is where the main offices are. IPB however was coded over here in the UK were Matt is based biggrin.gif

it's probably cheaper for the company to be us based than uk based... it all boils down to the money!!!

The UK haven't had a vote on the Euro for it to vote for it or against it...

However, personally I'm not too happy with having to pay in dollars 'cos it means I have to pay a conversion charge to my card company. There are lots of payment processors that allow you to accept payments in lots of currencies (Worldpay is a popular UK based one) and they also take care of the fluctuations in exchange rate - quite simply, there is no excuse for it!

I don't have a problem with IPS stating their prices in USD and customers paying whatever the equivilent is in their currency, but when you can't actually pay in your own currency it is annoying.

Well, it had better have a British English language pack, and I absolutley insist on GMT +/- timezones.

We neither, but the government voted for it, and the government is chosen by it's citizens isn't it?

In the UK the government has said there will be a referendum on the Euro.

Didn't know that. I think British people will freak out when they can easily compare prices with the rest of Europe
Sam
There is so much more to the Euro than that, though. wink.gif

Yes there is much love in the Euro, I'd love when it never happened wink.gif.

The timezones are GMT +/- - see the board settings in 'My Controls'.

Now that is a great way to escape from a Euro-zone w00t.gif
