My site has three admins. We all wanted our own avatar so we made two groups one for each admin and assigned an avatar to those groups and put those two guys in them with all the admin privs. Assigned that group the avatars they wanted.. we're all good right? Nope

Now they can't get to the logs and the SQL stuff. Is there anyway I can have a unique avatar for each admin? This single task has been the most troublesome thing. IPB offers more than our pHpBB board did, but it's little stuff like this that either isn't there or that I miss that bothers me.

So, can I just not do it?

Avatars? You mean team Icons. Avatars are set individually from the users UserCP, if they have permission to use them.

The default admin group is the Root Admin, they have access to certian sections of the AdminCP with regular administrators do not.

Yeah, in the edit group settings it's called a group icon image. I'd like that to be different for certain members so our admins could have personalized ones. I set it up like that for the moderators and it seems to work ok.

Thats what a Avatar is for. Group Icons are for each group to have a Similar picture.
You do not need to create multiple user groups to let people have thier own avatars.
Users can set up thier own avatars in the UserCP.

Right.. users can't have their own avatars. They have them via Ranks and that's it. I just wanted the admins and mods to have their own so I created a group for each mod since it's the only way I could figure to do it. It doesn't work for admins because if you're not a root admin you lose some abilities.

If it can't be done.. that's fine. I'll just miss that ability.

Why cant users just give themselves themselves thier own Avatars via the UserCP. I will give myself my own Avatar on these Boards.

Admins can give themselves avatars without allowing others the use of avatars? I didn't know that. I thought I looked.. I'll look some more.

Honestly, it doesn't matter to me. I just want the admins to be able to have their own icon avatar or whatever, but still not have others upload them.

Like I said, it's okay if it's not possible.. just wondering if there's a way to do it that I'm missing.

Sorry.. I somehow missed this. I have avatars disabled. I'm afraid of what kind of images I'd see if I was to enable them.

I have a headache now.

If you're worried about what images you'll see, only give the admin groups the ability to post avatars.

I'm just confused.
