What are the length of the sides of an octagon whose width is ten feet? 12 feet?

I have no idea, but I'm going to guess at 5 and 6 respectively.
err does the width refer to width from corner to corner, or from side to side?

10ft width: Using that method I get x = 3.5355 ft or x= 1.7677 ft but it's early in the morning so I probably made a mistake!

Actually, according to Dr. Greenie's formula (the last entry on that page)
S=D/(1+√2)
I believe that would yield results of 4.124ft and 4.970ft

Didn't see that at the end there! I was using the 2nd post's method.

Plus there was that whole "early in the morning" factor to contend with.
