Full Version: Who used ForumFlash?

About a year ago, ForumFlash was launched. Unfortunately, it only ran until December of 2004. I'm just curious, who actually had a ForumFlash forum? I did. It had about 45 members, and wasn't actually taken offline until April or so, which is pretty odd, since the entire service was supposed to go offline January 2005.

I checked it out and posted a bit on the community forum, but I didn't use it. I may have done if I hadn't already had a license though. original.gif

It was a good service, shame it went and died.

Yeah, it was awesome. A remotely hosted service with IPB 2, FTP, etc. But I can understand why it closed, though; it opened under the old license, before IPS became fully commercialized.

There were a few reasons, but IPS had everyones interest when they finally decided to close the service. original.gif

Yeah, ForumFlash was cool. I liked it. The design was also nice, clean, and simple.

Wasn't the design the stock 2.0 PF4? I actually thought it looked pretty cool, since the PF used smaller, rounded icons.

I swear I remember ForumFlash having their own custom skin, though most buttons were default IPB PR.

I think one of the dev. or owners is an IBE owner, i think Steve correct me if im wrong..
Quillz
IBE? InvisionBoard Essentials? Yeah, Steve is an administrator over on the forums.

FlashForum or FlashBB is a phpBB mod that renders the forum in Flash. Very nice looking, very futuristic... but I posted about it months ago and a lot of people didn't like it. Google it... it's interesting, at least.

I only heard of ForumFlash, but I didn't and don't realize the difference between it and IPS Hosting.

I found ForumFlash a while ago when it was still in business and I created a board on it just to have some fun. Back then I didn't run my site, but I would have probably used ForumFlash for my friend's forum if we didn't already start it with InvisionFree (Which I think is a very good service for a free InvisionBoard).

I used ForumFlash, infact FF is what inspired me to start my own community and be here. tongue.gif

forumflash was moved to that shared forum hosting or something, so there is no difference really

I've seen it but never used it.

From the looks of this:
