Why did newegg send my stuff in 4 packages from 3 places? =\

I ordered a new computer... got the monitor yesterday... the psu, ram, and cd rom drive today... and the case along with mobo, processor, and wutever else tomorrow. That kind aggravates me more getting it different days rather than all on friday. What am I to do with a powersupply and ram?

/end rant

I am adding that to my list of great replies...

They have 4 locations, and not everything is in the same location. They have locations in NJ, CA, and somewhere else too.

At least your computer came. When my sister ordered from them, they sent her someone else's computer.

No, it was pretty much the same. I think it had an AMD processor instead of a Pentium 4, though.

You know what, Newegg sucks about his now, they have different locations they ship form now, and if on location close to you does not have it, they will ship form a different location, BUT, they do not tell you that when you check out.

What sucks about that, lets say your in California, and you buy from newegg. Yes, you get charged TAX. But when they ship it from New Jersey, its the same if I would have bought it from an out of state online store, and save on tax. Its my choice to guy from a cali store, and be charged tax. I didnt ask for them to ship it form New Jersey and still be charged tax. sad.gif

Well, isn't it your responsibility to remit "use tax", equal to the state sales tax, to the state taxing authority even if it was purchased out of state?

umm, Newegg is located in Cali, so no matter where they ship from, you pay them in Cali, therefore, you need to pay TAX. I hate it that they dont tell you where they ship it from. Because I could save on TAX, buying it form somone out of Cali.

And let's not forget that CA also has the US's highest sales tax rate, currently at 8.25%. This is why I try to buy things from people located in Oregon; no sales tax fear.gif

You don't pay tax if where it's coming from is in the same state, you pay tax if the company you are purchasing it from is a legal corporation in that state (has a location). For example, Dell. They have stores in like 20 states, and if you order a computer (even though it's shipped out of Dell Headquarters) - they still legally have to charge to tax, because they have a location in those 20 states (example being my state, Ohio).

Sales Tax isn't defined by the state, it's defined by the county.

And, my county in Ohio's sales tax is 8%

I used newegg for my new comp that i just built, shipped from 2 locations, and got here on the same day. I dont really see what your problem is with waiting though... Their prices are so low that even paying sales tax (im in NC, so i dont have to biggrin.gif) isnt horrible.

Throw them out, they're optional parts of the computer. shifty.gif

I started browsing newegg's site... now I'm really tempted by a LCD monitor... damn it...
Why Two Kay
I have actually been very happy with Newegg. I ordered a new Video Card on Saturday, with FedEx Express Saver 4-6 day shipping. They do not process orders on weekends, so I assumed I would recieve the card on Friday/Saturday. Nope, I recieved it on Wednesday, much earlier than I expected! I was very pleased with their service.thumbsup.gif

And I bit the bullet, the 4ms/5ms response time plus the reviews of the monitor got me... :">
