My PC is confgured so that there is a 'click' through the speakers when I click my mouse in IE.
After clicking on links on this board, it sounds as though a machine gun magazine is being unloaded on some poor soul. Every one click turns into about a dozen. Anybody else getting this effect?

That's crappy IE for you ... Switch to mozilla firefox and the clicks are gone ..

Yes, I have that effect. It's been happening since 2.1... if I click a page, it turns into 4 - 5 clicks.
I like that IE effect... it makes sounds on rollovers and other things.

Not sure about the multiple clicks but if you want to disable the click effect completely...
Start >
Control Panel >
Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices >
Sounds and Audio Devices >
"Sounds" tab >
Go to the Windows Explorer section >
Click on the "Start Navigation" event and select "None" >
Click "OK" to apply

I'm not so bothered about the noise, more concerned about all the pseudo-clicks that my browser is sending to this board.

It'll be all the xmlhttprequests that the board uses... they'll cause ie to be even more annoying than usual.
