Hello all,
I was wondering who here has got a Mac computer. I got a PowerBook G4 12" and titanium case, and I just upgraded to Mac OSX 10.4.1 last week. So anyone else got on.

They will be using Intel chips in ther new line of Mac's - that doesn't mean that you can use OS X on anything other than a apple computer

Ya, I heard that Apple was going to have intel make another 128 bit chip for them like IBM did. But who knows. BTW, my dad has an iMac G5 20" with 2GHz Processor, and he wants to get a fully loaded PowerMac G5 with 30" screen for like $8k lol and then I wanna get an xServe G5.... for... ummm... stuff.

Also on 10.4.2, suprisingly enough apple didnt send me an email nor did I get a notification on updates program. Strange, anyway, well kinda suprised on the number of mac users. I love mac, its just soo much better, all they gotta do now is make easy personal webserver software so I can test my PHP work and stuff.

Apple
have not said that they will be allowing MacOSX to run on non-apple computers. Infact, quite the opposite. It's been said that MacOSX will require a special chip to be present in the machines, identifying it as an Apple computer before OSX will boot.
QUOTE(ThinkSecret)
Sources have indicated that Apple will employ an EDID chip on the motherboard of Intel-based Macs that Mac OS X will look for and must handshake with first in order to boot.

Whilte it might not be official support or made for PC's it for sure will run with a few hacks sooner or later on a regular pc.

It depends how well integrated the EDID chip is with the system and the OS itself. It could be made extremely difficult to do.

It will be done, sooner or later. Didnt we already have a link of someone running OS X on a normal pc somewhere? Anyway nothing is 100% safe, someone will think out a workaround sooner or later.

I've got three Macs, but they're pretty old.
First computer isn't a Mac, but is an Apple IIGS. It doesn't work now, but I still keep it because it is antique hardware.
The oldest Mac I have is a Macintosh IIsi. Sadly, the hard disk's shot, and I don't have any software for it to run.
The second oldest I have is a Macintosh LC 580I've recently installed 8.0 on it, and it runs very smoothly.
Third oldest is a 1999 Blueberry iMac. It's been partitioned about 10 times in its lifetime, and is only running 9.2 (it is slower than a turtle when it runs Mac OS X).
