Can anyone recomend any site blocking utilities that work with Opera/IE and firefox as i have all 3 installed.

I would like to block sites manually if possible so the browser asks for a password when trying to access a blacklisted site or failing that something that will just ignore the request.

You can do so on your router, most have the option of Domain Blocking / URL Blocking.

I do not have a router i am still on caky dial up.

Can i achieve this using zone alarm?

You can do it if you have nortant. Are you trying to keep it safe for kids in the family that use the computer?

Why not use the hosts file? ...I think that's what it's called.
