What are some of the largest known IPB boards that you know of that are large in both member # AND constant online activity? If you have a link, please post it.

Very, You can find more VB boards then IPB though. YOu have to search. BUt it has most accurate. Each board has over 500,000 posts and a huge amount of members. Even Gamspot, IGN, EA etc is on them

My eyes just can't handle it ... too hard to read

I like white space, minimalism, light colours, bunny rabbits playing in meadows etc.

In my personal experience, I do not find it very accurate. I have came across many large IPBs that are not listed on that site.

I believe the owners of the board have to request listing in order to be listed.

Techniqually, your on the biggest ipb board because without this board, there would be no other board.

You do, and then you have to carry a tracking device on your forum. Tiny 1px by 1px dot down near the query information (if you have it turned on) ->

But it does update every 2-4 hours from memory, you have to have a minum of 500'000 to get listed. Pretty good stats though

Then somebody else listed it... somebody has to submit the site for it to show up.

500k posts required but no minimum limit for members, few boards on the list with less than 1000 members

I'll have to stop pruning posts (and members) to get on that list

You don't need a big-boards.com beacon image unless you want them to track traffic stats (pages). That's what I do, saves me having to do it myself. The image can be 0x0 taking up no space at all. You don't need to register to be listed. People can register for you. They parse your index page for # of members/# of posts. If you don't have stats on your index page they can't track it.
