I've realised that when I move from v2.0.4 to the new v2.1 I'd like to relaunch my board with a new skin. Any recommendations/suggestions for anyone who is ready to develop custom v2.1 skins???

Transverse Styles will have 2.1 skins once 2.1 is gold.

How much diiference is there between 2.0.4 and 2.1 skins?

Onelotus Creative will have 2.1 skins when 2.1 goes final, we also do custom skins for 2.1 final, and there are, thus far 204 changes to the templates.

lol, I made it for BETA 4, gonna see how it runs when the final comes out. Fingers crossed its just a few changes.

There are tons of template additions/changes in IPB 2.1. You can manually add and change the codes in each template bit, or restart a new skin using the new 2.1 template. Either way it's going to be a pain in the <censored> to upgrade a skin.

Aye, and I believe I read somewhere that Matt said he wasn't doing much to the skinning side til IPB3.0.

Everglade Media will be selling custom 2.1 skins when it's final. We won't be upgrading skins- we'll be redoing them in 2.1; not worth the hassle.

Do you guys plan to release premade skins for sale as well?

Not anytime soon, but it's definitely on our list of things to-do.

We have an awesome project coming up, pretty much open-source forum skins. It doesn't make sense just reading that, and I can't give out a lot of details, but let's just say IPB will be a lot more CSS when we're done with it.
