Hi Matt, I'm really excited and anxious for IPB 2.1. You said in your blog that RC 1 would be released this week, is it still going to be released this week? There is a ton of bugs and none have been fixed all week.

Please update us on the status of IPB 2.1 Matt and if RC 1 will be released this week original.gif

Thanks
John
I'd have a guess at early next week.

Mid/Late next week. There may be a BETA6 though this week or early next week.

All the features are in (even one IPB 3.0 "feature") and we're all set for the first RC later this week.

With the new ticket center just unleashed and the computer gremlins chowing away inside and wrecking havoc, I'd wager on next week. Although in all fairness, while he said that they're set for the release, I don't think it officially says that it actually will be released. (Just an unfortunate observation)

I thought there would be a Beta 6 also, but that's looking to be wrong:

Although IPB 2.1.0 is still beta software and not used in a production environment, we still felt it best to release this little update ahead of the next release (which is likely to be RC 1).

I heard RC1 will be out end of this week if I right? blink.gif

I start to get the feeling we are at Microsoft betanews, everyone want the next "beta" build ending with relased ver of full of bugs, let Matt take his time, test, as well customers/users keep reporting the bugs, I see no point really jumping from beta build just to make some out there happy.

Sorry if I am speaking my mind here, but that the way whith many post demanding Matt to release new beta build, my best.

You're speaking the mind of many with what you said. I'll admit, I'm eager to get to the next release so that I can bug-hunt and report them (as many are) so it'll be as bug free as possible, but being realistic, sometimes things have to get put off a day or more for good reasons (like the ticket center in this case) and I'd rather wait an extra day or two than to get something that hasn't had any real work done to it.

Looking at things overall, IPS had hoped (not promised) to have 2.1 final released by now. Am I sad that it's not complete yet? Well, yeah, of course. Am I disappointed? No, because I know that the reason is to put out a quality product, so I'm willing to wait for it.

Already it's Thursday evening. While possible, I believe it unlikely that Matt will rip through all of the bug reports, get them fixed and be satisfied with the fixes to release it by tomorrow afternoon/evening. So oh well, another weekend to be able to bug-hunt and report so that the RC release (hopefully next week) might be one of a couple instead of 4 or 5.

I had a hunch like on early Weds morning that it wouldn't be this week. laughing.gif

Site specific, I can only guess it's the ticket center. Good work on it too, looks nice.

It's no biggy, we can just use the weekend to dig up any extra bugs and report them, so that RC1 will be low on bugs (if any) thumbsup.gif
