QUOTE
Critically ill former Northern Ireland Secretary Mo Mowlam's health is now "deteriorating", friends have said.

Ms Mowlam, 55, was moved from hospital to the Pilgrim Hospice, in Canterbury, Kent, last week.

She had been taken to King's College Hospital in London two weeks ago, but was transferred to the hospice to be closer to her family.

Doctors have given no details of her illness, including whether or not it is connected to her previous brain tumour.

First Robin Cook, and now Mo Mowlam. The two people who are in my opinion the best politicians to be in a Cabinet since the 60s or 70s both gone within a few weeks of each other. RIP.

Robin Cook and Mo Mowlam were the 2 labour MP's who I felt actually had a personality, were in this because they really wanted to make things better for people and who wouldn't put up with crap. It's a shame they are both now gone, politics is weaker.

I don't really have any words to express how I really feel. We might never have known this woman personally, but she had such an impact on all our lives, and now she's gone. She truly was an amazing woman.
