Is anyone else having this problem still? We were told YESTERDAY when we were down for over 5 hours that they were "working on it" and were dealing with a DOS attack. But now were down again...but IPB is UP. Doesn't this seem odd to anyone? Like...what are their priorities? Themselves or their clients?
Anyway...any news?

All the issues are resolved. If your site is down it could be for a variety of reasons. I will have the techs look into your issue.

With all due respect...all issues are NOT resolved. We are still down.
Try for yourself....www.Traders-Talk.com?
We've already contacted tech support via the ticket system. We've been waiting patiently.
btw: Didn't there use to be a live chat where we could actually contact a support member or tech support? Since things have changed on your site, I can't find that anymore.

I'm sure there are *many* reasons, Charles. But in the end, IPB is responsible for them.
You should agree with me that this is frustrating. Especially when in "after hours" there's no way to contact someone live to fix the problem.
I just want the site back up. If you can put me in contact with someone who can help, I would appreciate it.
What happened to the live chat support anyway?

We provide tickets and live chat support on Saturday and there are indeed people in our offices. They are currently looking into why your site is offline

Does anyone have a link to the live chat support?
I can't find it anymore.

My site (www.marlinbaseball.com) is also down, giving a can't connect to site error.
Submitted a ticket.

Yup. That's us all over.
But we now seem to be back up. Are you?
*Question* Now why didn't they know we were down in the first place?
We've been down since midnight last night. Ouch $$$$$

mbits: Yeah, when the DNS servers crashed. No biggie
It's back, that was real quick. Why I stay with IPS

10 hours = real quick?
again, I say, "ouch."
But it's fixed once again, and I'm a happy camper.
Thanks, IPB. Problem solv-ed.

Well I've only known about it for like 25 minutes so it's quick to me I guess.

There are posts on my site from less than 7 hours ago so couldn't have been 11 on my site.

IPS really needs to get a better upstream provider who has better protection against DOS... I have been noticing these DOS attacks on the forum as well.
mebits: Your site is up for me now btw

If there was such a thing as "protection against DoS" the invetor would be able to retire a millionaire.

Even with redundant servers, DoS is still a problem because as soon as the redudant servers went online, the DoS would take them offline.
There are some hardware solutions: Cisco do a nice magic box to help compat DoS but that's upwards of $20,000 a pop and we'd need one for virtually every server.
