Has anyone else been getting intermittent outages on Comcast internet? It is most noticable for me when I'm playing games - every few minutes I'd drop the connection for 10-15 seconds.

I've been noticing a d/c here and there, however I'm not certain if it's the modem, the router or the service. I haven't been able to pinpoint the p.o.t. yet, but I suppose if enough people have a similar problem then it's more likely them and not individuals.

i called them and asked why there is 2 maybe you can call it 1 major issue

DNS Servers they are adding 250 more nation wide so they said the move from your old to the new one if you will get a new one will be 1 reason and the main reason for the new is as of Sept. 1,2005 Comcast mbps will go up

the normal 4mbps plan is now 6mbps

and the top Tier will be 10mbps and anyone with the top tier plan will be on seperate DNS servers then regular customers they said to ensure great spped they said this is in response to Verizon FiOS

they alo went on to say their goal is by 1-1-2006 have the top tier at 15 and lowest/regular at 10

It happens to me a lot. I leave my computer on, come back from school, and iChat is disconnected. It's annoying- it's the main reason I stopped gaming a year ago... and it's the main reason I switched from ADSL; so it wouldn't happen, and it still has. I've replaced the router, switch, modem, cords, and even jacks. It's Comcast.

Glad to hear that someone else is having the same problems... for me it started a few weeks ago and i thought that comcast might have just been updating some software/hardware but now its getting rediculus. Certainly wrecks watching streaming movies and online games... ermm.gif

I think tomorrow I may call them and see if we can figure out what is going on.

Here's a crazy idea.....call comcast for the fix. Their support may suck, but if you immediately forward to higher tech support, I've yet to get a real fix from them when it was needed. :S
