Simon Simon Simon... Now to lower the bar some...

Legally Blonde 2

That film didn't lower the bar, it took it out back and broke it's kneecaps.

To be fair I think the Spy Kids films are going to be hated by anyone in adolescence and beyond. Everyone I know who's watched them says "I hated it but <insert tiny kid here> loved it to bits!" End of the day they're not like disney films, which while targeted at kids can be enjoyed by an adult, they're just purely kids films, as irritating as that me to anyone over the age of 10.

I'll just mention the WORST movie in my list- Alone in the Dark. The silliest possible script, the worst acting, the most unbelievably bad directing. I think Uwe Boll owes me about 90 minutes that I spent watching his senseless movie.

Masters of the Universe

I don't think movies get much worse than Vertical Limit.

Watch Manos. Seriously. You won't be disappointed with the level of badness. In the same way as 'Citizen Kane' is shown to film students to show how to do everything right, Manos should be shown to film students as a lesson in how not to do anything. Ever.

Cold Creek Manor. Nuff said.

As I stated in the other thread, "The Blair Witch Project" is about as bad as it gets in my opinion. tongue.gif
True statement... the only people really bothered by this one were those who forgot their barf bags... tongue.gif

Titanic was the worst movie I saw. My Girlfriend at the time made me see it ermm.gif

Can't remember the film, but I do remember wandering round a cinema for a couple of hours waiting for my friends as I was bored stiff watching this film. It was some lovey dovey affair which explains it all.
I watched some of Mission Impossible 2 last night and discovered it was just as boring as the first time I watched it, so I flicked to QI instead.
Blasphemy! M:I-2 is a great action film! John Woo also directed the amazing (IMHO) Broken Arrow.

QUOTE(Jaime @ Aug 30 2005, 07:52 AM) *
The most overrated and overhyped movie for me is probably Independence Day. It was so bad I wanted to walk out but my friends were there.
QUOTE(CTerry @ Aug 30 2005, 09:27 AM) *
Now that is an awful movie.
I loved it the first time I saw it, and hated it the second time. The difference was the theater I saw it in. ID4 was made for one purpose: to show off a high-deifinition set and/or a good sound system... it was little more than eye candy. But it was damned good at that and I'm proud to have it in my collection.

Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow pinch.gif
A lot of people didn't like that one, but I love how it was done.

QUOTE(silverstarfish @ Aug 31 2005, 01:28 PM) *
The worst movie lately.. definitely Sin City.. I never fall asleep while watching movies.. and I did. tongue.gif
Ditto for Sin City (as Sky Captain), I loved that movie too. I didn't like how women were portrayed (even the little girl grows up to practically be a sl_t) but for what it was, it was pretty good.

28 Days Later getlost.gif

I also liked that film, you guys need to start learning to appreciate film more happy.gif

I have to agree about 28 Days Later. It started out cool but quickly fell into the cliches. Granted, I'm not one for zombie flicks, and it was better than most zombie films, but overall I just wasn't impressed.

I liked Tom Cruise in Interview With the Vampire. I know a lot of people don't like that movie, but I do. I thought it was great. New Orleans-cultured vampires, the personality clashes between Lestat and Louis and especially Lestat and Claudia... Claudia herself was a really interesting character, never aging above 6 or 7 but being 80-some-odd years old... Tom Cruise wasn't the strongest point in that film, but he did alright. Looking Cruise up on IMDb... good movies he was in: Last Samurai, Vanilla Sky, M:I-2, and The Firm (though the book was much better). I didn't really like Minority Report all that much, it kind of confused me.

I always wanted to see Solaris, but I haven't heard a good thing about it.

More worst films: Anything with Chuck Norris or Jean-Claude Van Damme in it. Except Bloodsport, but the only redeeming quality in that movie was when the guy gets his leg busted and the bone juts out... I cringe every time. Any film that hits you like that can't be all that bad, even if it's otherwise horrible.
