OK, I was in a store we have here, Cost Plus World Market... they sell stuff from all over the world. Europe, Australia and New Zealand, Asia, India, the Middle East, Africa... it's all represented. Furniture, housewares, and food and wine. It's a really cool store, and not as expensive as you'd think. Anyway, I'm always looking at food from other places, and one thing caught my attention: mousse. It was a kind of whipped dessert, and I picked the strawberry variety. It had me mix a cup of water (or was it milk?) with this powder, and whip it on low until it got thick, then for 3-5 minutes on high... after a couple minutes, it got thick. Not very thick... about as thick as yogurt maybe... almost like flavored cool whip, but thicker. The box shows them in little cups, that's pretty much what we did. It was OK but we're wondering if you normally serve something in it, or it on something.

Thanks in advance. wink.gif

I've never mixed anything with it though.

It might be like Angel Delight that we have here in the UK. AFAIK it's just to be eaten on it's own, but you could add in some fruit, like strawberries or something I guess.

As long as the ingredients don't include any toxins or anything expensive, sure. wink.gif

Okay, It's super easy, healthy, plenty of protein, no cholesterol, and has two (or three) ingredients.

1. One package of extra-firm silken tofu - might also be labelled "smooth" or "dessert" instead of "silken"- if it doesn't say silken, smooth, or dessert, it's no good for this recipe. Mori-Nu is the most common brand.
2. One cup of chocolate chips.
Optional - tablespoon or two of maple syrup will make it very very rich. You can also add a bit of vanilla extract if you like (or peppermint, or almond, or whatever).

Melt the chocolate and put it and everything else in a blender. That's it. I have fooled COUNTLESS people with this recipe.

Tofu? In Mousse? :eww:

I'm not lying! It has no taste of its own and takes on the taste of whatever it's with - in this case, chocolate. Even my family who aren't vegetarians constantly ask me to make this. Give it a try, you'll be amazed.
