In this
Slashdot Article - a web developer gets his revenge on fuddruckers.

QUOTE
"Fuddruckers, a hamburger chain, hotlinked to a flash game developer's Burgertime clone on their 'Fuddrockers' page. When the developer noticed an abnormal amount of traffic coming from their website, he decided to
let the company know how he felt -- and maybe teach them about hotlinking.." From the post: "So, I redirected everything coming from Fuddruckers.com. (learned all about .htaccess files also... neat!) Wrote a nice little message pointing out how incredibly stupid their web developer is. And then redirected the main page to a pleasant little website showing photographs of slaughterhouses. And also opened up some more popups, for those that don't have popup blockers."

What the heck? Their site is a redirect to Google?
Funny way to deal with bandwidth thieves... lmao... Flash game couldn't have been very big, or the necessary bandwidth a terrible burden on a restaurant/fast food joint. It'll be funny to see the backlash from this.
There are no Fuddruckers in my area (Sonoma County, CA) and I'm not sure if there are any where I'm moving in North Carolina, but I have heard of them... I'm not too big a fan of fast-food burgers, I like the real ones with the steak fries and the real ice cream milkshakes. You pay a little more but dammit, it's worth it.

I'm guessing that with such bad press, and it being ALL OVER the internet, the entire web-development department of Fuddruckers has been liquidated. Either that, or someone hacked the fuddruckers website and redirected to google, or perhaps their host redirected ... who knows. All I know is that they could have just disabled linking to/from their fuddrockers page rather easily, so redirecting the entire domain to another site makes me a bit leary as to whether or not their main domain will ever be back again.
Yeah, I'd have to be pretty certain that whomever linked to his offsite page definately got the boot.

Apologized my (butt), they should offer free food for the inconvienence, payment for the services and a free link to his site for being a good sport about it.
I've been to Fuddruckers before, and it's not the most impressive place, but they are good. It's not a fast food place, not in my opinion anyway. Custom making each order (cooking wise) then you can shovel on your own toppings to your desire. It's been awhile since I've been there, but gawd am I starting to crave it again.
Now is it just me or does the name "Fuddruckers" make others think of a profane name? :-" Like Ruddf....... I'll let you figure out the rest.
