I want guests to be able to view the topic lists but not the topic content. What settings do I need?

I thought I did it in permissions but when I click a forum as a guest it says this message:

QUOTE
No topics were found. This is either because there are no topics in this forum, or the topics are older than the current age cut-off.

It's doing my head in - please help.

Edit the forum, under "Permission Settings", change this option to "Yes":
QUOTE
Allow members who can see the forum but cannot read topics to see the topic list
If yes, the member will be able to see the topic titles but will not be able to read the topic posts when clicked.

See if that doesn't fix it for you.

Unless I've got the wrong end of the stick it doesn't work. I often get the !2### end of the stick. blink.gif

It's a permission setting AND a forum setting.

I have this checked but where else? I'm sorry.

If I want Guests to see the topic list, but not be able to read posts what do I need to change. I have attached the settings I have made so far - are they incorrect and what else do I need to change?

Thanks,
Simon

That should be working.

Odd.

I used to have it all set like this before upgrading and it worked fine.

Try rebuilding all the caches.

Also try turning it to no and then back to yes.

Just as a quick note, its working for me. ermm.gif

If rebuidling all caches is this:
Cache Manager
The cache manager allows you to view the contents of your cache and update them.

Done.

Done after upgrade and just done again.

Still not working. This is driving me nuts. Could it be a problem with installation as I'm having one or two other problems like WYSIWYG (IE 6) double line spacing returns and also sometimes not formatting text as set or being unable to alter text format at all.

Simon
