The problem with that is if someone is looking for that generic type of site, they won't search for the site name, they would search for graphics, graphics support, graphics development, etc.

(or is that the definition of a rank - just typing in the name of the site - I don't really know, I'm not that into SEO >< )

If you search for the name of a site, duh, it'll always be first or second.

That's what I thought surely the point is to be #1 on a generic keyword relating to your subject that people might actually search for.
thebattosai
so, you're saying if you type in metatag key words, then see where your site ranks?

We're 4th for "Olsen Twins Forum" but the site itself is 3rd for "Olsen Twins"
Tommeh.
I don't have a site as such, apart from the one in my signature, but if you type 'r0x0rs' into google, the first result is a subdomain of my domain tongue.gif

Both of them got uglier when they dyed their hair.

How do you get a good google ranking?
DragonFire0729
Meta tags, lots of links to you, good content, etc.
In addition, I have some meta tags that do things like tell googlebot to come back more often, not sure if that helps or not
Why Two Kay
Hmm.... Not exactly a popular name combo? But I do get a lot of results, but most make no sense to what I am really addressing.

Yeah so instead of searching for;

"Bob Morrisons Used Cars"

You should search for

"Used Cars"

Getting to the top of the search engines for generic keywords is what it's all about.
