YOU KNOW YOU'VE BEEN IN UNIVERSITY TOO LONG WHEN...
QUOTE
You actually like doing laundry at home where the washing machines work.

Two miles is not too far to walk for a party.

You'd rather clean than study especially if an essay is due.

"Oh faeces how did it get so late!" comes out of your mouth at least once a night.

Parents' cooking becomes something you desire, not avoid.

You schedule your classes around sleep habits and soap operas especially neighbours and Hollyoaks.

You know the pizza boy by name and don't even need to read the menu.

You go to sleep when it's light and get up when it's dark.

You live for getting mail.

Looking out the window is a form of entertainment.

Prank phone calls become funny again.

You start thinking and sounding like your friends and your accent becomes a hybrid of West Country, Surrey and general Northern.

Highlighters are the coolest things on earth.

Rearranging your room is your favourite pastime.

Rubbish cheap £1 shops are so cool.

The weekend lasts from Thursday to Monday.

BEFORE I CAME TO UNIVERSITY, I WISH I HAD KNOWN...
QUOTE
That it didn't matter how late my first lecture was, I'd still sleep through it.

That you can love a lot of people in a lot of different ways.

No matter how 'cool' you were in school, no one here cares.

That if you wear polyester everyone will ask why you are so dressed up.

That every clock on campus shows a different time.

That if you got good a-levels, so what? It doesn't matter here.

That I would go to a party the night before an exam or essay due-date.

That you can know everything and fail a test.

That you can know nothing and ace a test.

That I could get used to almost anything found out about my friends.

That most of my education would be obtained outside of lectures.

That friendship is more than getting drunk together but that's still funny.....!

That Sunday is a figment of the world's imagination.

That Psychology is really Biology, that Biology is really Chemistry, that Chemistry is really Physics and that Physics is really Maths.

That my parents would become so much smarter in the last few years.

REASONS THAT UNIVERSITY IS LIKE PRIMARY SCHOOL
QUOTE
You cross the street without looking for cars.

Snack time is a necessity.

You bundle up for the outdoors without caring what you look like (because everyone else looks as stupid as you do).

You stay at home and play games with your friends.

You wear your backpack on both shoulders.

You wear big mittens.

Playing in the snow is a legitimate activity.

You take naps.

You look forward to cheese toasties.

Yeah, some of them are so true, but some are just out there.

On the first list, they are all so true until you get the prank calls, from there on its just weird or don't really affect everyone, well, accept the last one, that ones true!

The next few sets do have some good ones, and some bad ones.

At my uni it didn't snow often, just rained. So mud-sliding was the most legitimate activity around.

Of course when it did snow, playing in the snow superceded everything else, even if it was 3 am. Especially at 3 am, because odds are it will have melted by morning.

We are inherently lazy.

Sad, but true. Chris likes to send me text messages when he goes to Jakes (A "fast food" place popular with students which is lovely), since I don't live anywhere near it this year and I'd told him that I missed it, so he seems to go there every other bloody day now getlost.gif

I'm only used to it when moving in at fall, and when coming back from winter break.

Those are generaly the only times I change my room around or now of other people doing it.

This one I do kind of get why is there though, but it's not a favorite activity.

That garbage shop, huh, no idea what it is. And I guess I should tell my high lighters they are the coolest thing in the world tonight. Those are the two I don't get. But I'm gussing I don't get the garbage shop one because I'm form the states.

You know when you've been at university too long when...

You don't go out unless there's a keg at the destination.

Those were really good, I've not seen them before.

Gonna really miss uni when I graduate next year, just one more semester to go!

Know the feeling, one way I can't wait and in another I don't want to leave

Once I finish I've got another two years of Law courses to do, and then a two year training contact. I won't be fully qualified for another 5 years! pinch.gif

Thats your fault for deciding to align yourself with the forces of evil.
