Yeah, I caught it in 24 last night and it looked sweet. They aired the full theratical trailer too! You don't see that to often on tv.

Is a high definition avalible of this trailer on apple.com yet? I'll have to look for it.
ZuCruTrooper2
I don't know if it's the same one, but there's been one on Apple for a LOOONG time, and it is HD
Starnox
HD versions of it aren't available on Apple yet, although the large one is very large tongue.gif

Are there any places on the Net to directly download trailers? I can't watch them worth a damn if they stream, being on dialup. The best way for me to watch one is fully downloaded. And Firefox can't do that without a download accelerator/manager, and with all the choices out there I don't know which one to go for.

How much better do the HD trailers look than the regular ones? Are they closer to DVD quality or do they surpass it entirely?

Not that I've got any interest in X-Men anyway, but when will Hollywood stop making sequels of everything...

It depends on what size you choose. I believe DVD quality is about 640, HD on Apples site is usually offered in 720 or 1080.

Hey, I hear you, but I think superhero movies are meant to have sequels. And in that case there's a difference between having a sequel by design (e.g. the Harry Potter movies) and having a sequel to squeeze more money out of the name (e.g. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines).

Clones bother me more than sequels, even when both are good (e.g. Armageddon and Deep Impact).

If you have quicktime 7 pro, it has a save as feature when you right click on the video. Otherwise, you can imput the url into a download manager, and you should be able to download it.

As for HD, it depends. If you have the proper memory, and graphics card that can handle it. Then from the diffrence of 720p and 1080i, it depends on your monitor. Many displays don't go up to 1920 x 1080 which is full HD. But if your system can handle it, it is the most amaizing thing every. It's like you can reach in and touch what ever is in the video. It's like the max quality photo from a digital camera with extream sharpnest and clarity in motion.

Ha ha... I'm sure my AMD64 3200+ system with 1GB DDR PC3200 RAM and 256MB GeForce 6600 can handle any video stream commercially available. (Actually, this one time some video encoder I was messing with somehow bloated just a few minutes to several gigabytes, and that choked my last system, a Pentium 3 1.2GHz with 768MB RAM and a 128MB GeForce Ti4400, but that was just a fluke.

Is there a way I can see HD video on my system given that I'm on Dialup? I mean, is there a DVD with HD content as a special feature or something? How would I try that out? I can't download something that big... maybe if it were a Torrent, and download it over a few days.

nothing for free, but you can buy 1920 x 1080 imax movies in wmvhd on dvd at wmvhd.com

Other than that, all samples are 100 to 300 mb in size, not so dial up friendly

My old computer has pretty much the same set up, only a amd athlon 3400 and 512mb ram. And the 1081 video was jerky.

Now I have a laptop, with the same processor, but a gig of ram, and it works fine.

Microsoft recomends 1 gb of ram and a 3.0 ghz processor for wmv 1080. Though, knowing you have a gig of ram, and a AMD chip I'm sure you will be fine. But just above what it takes to play the video.

I might agree normally, but I think both movies thus far have been very well made and acted. And like Nathan said, this isn't just a sequel for the sake of a sequel. At least it continues a story.

So I take it this is the last part of X-men? Seeing as it said "The Last Stand". I mean...there could be another one. I want to see Gene go "phoenix" like original.gif

Surely they can't tease us with the Phoenix at the end of X2 and then not show her like that in X3. Either way, if The Last Stand is a big commercial success they would release another. Even if they had it titled X3: The End, they would release another if they saw big money in it.
