Is there a goos CVS (or similar) programs for Mac OS X? Preferrably free, but otherwise cheap wouldn't be too bad.
I've tried looking but haven't seen anything good.

You mean client?
SmartCVS
.. is has a foundation (free) version Java based.

If you decide to use SVN instead of CVS, then svnX is a great program to use with it.

SVN has many improvments over CVS.. some refer to SVN as CVS2
