Ive had a banner made in the res 500x90 and everytime I upload its small, ive made it bigger in Photoshop, but when I upload it it makes it smaller. How do I change the size?

I have changed the height setting, I wondered if anyone could help me, as im not very good with the coding.
I have added the banner under the Logo bit in the Images section, is this right?
