Hey everybody,
I've finally got around to setting up a blog for myself, and I have quickly whipped up a skin for it. I've just made some small modifications to the famous K2 skin, but I think it is different enough to be unique. I'm trying to go with a Spring/Summer feel and the skin will be changed for Autumn and Winter.
Here's the link:
blog.arkitus.comI'm looking forward to your comments and (hopefully constructive) criticism.

Not bad, but first of all, the sunny landscape on the left side and the complete black on the right side do not mix or match at all, and it left me staring at one for a long time and then the other for a long time.

Hmm, thats weird. I kinda like the contrast the two have. I wonder if I'm the only one. Eek.

I like it - it's just a bit too green...
Ouch, horizontal scroll (Firefox 1.5.0.2 on Ubuntu 5.10).

Keep the left image no matter what.

Thanks everyone for the input.
LilJames: I'm kinda thinking about the greeniness (

) myself. Do you think I should make it paler?
Veracon: I'm not getting horizontal scroll in FF 1.5.0.2 on OSX, and I haven't changed a lot from K2. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Nelson: I'm glad you like it. I'm definitely going to keep that picture.

Maybe it'd look cool if you carried the landscape onto the black area, in shades of grey?

I get it in Safari on 1024x768.

Aside from that though, I love that sidebar
I get horizontal scroll in Opera 8.51, too (also on Ubuntu 5.10)—and to an even higher degree than in Firefox.

Ouch, I had forgotten to test it on a 1024x768 screen. Veracon, is that the resolution you are using? I'll fix it tonight after I do my revision.

. I thought you were mentioning the annoying scrolls you get for no reason.
Rikki: I might add that too. The sidebar was my first attempt at making an actual 'picture' on the computer, and it took a lot longer than I thought it would. That whole black part would take aages!

Everyone else: Thanks for the comments.

Ok, I think I've fixed the scrolling issue. Can someone please confirm this? Also, are there any bugs popping up in IE by any chance? (I can't check myself).
Thanks!

I don't see any bugs from a glanceover from the looks of it in IE on Windows.

I don't think it's too green, it's quite nice.
The only thing I don't like there is the incomplete border. Part of it black and part of it white, it looks incomplete...

Thanks Dimdum. Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'the incomplete border'? Maybe you can take a screenshot of the problem?
Cheers.

Ouch... that's definitely not the way it's supposed to be

Can you please tell me what browser/OS you are using? Is anyone else seeing the website like this? One other thing that shouldn't look like that is the padding for the right-hand-side column: it should be spaced evenly on the two sides. Is everyone seeing it like that?
