Just had a member email me with an issue during registration. He filled in all the fields and clicked on the submit registration and received an error message similar to: One of your inputs (cells) has an error. It did not indicate which one. Through a little invetigation and luck we found it to be that he entered his phone number as 1234567890 and not 123-456-7890.

Could IPS update the software to make this error message a little clearer, have telephone numbers acepted in any of the following formats: 1234567890, 123-456-7890, (123) 4567890, (123) 456-7890 etc.

You do understand that that profile field is only exists on your forum right? Its not a default field, that exits iny our profile, to my knowlege. I at least cannot find it on my profile on my website, IPSBeyond, or here.

Yeah, as a custom profile field, you set the expected input - however the user's input was not in the format you specified in the ACP.

I understand but is there a way to indicate which item was in error? Since IPB knows there is a field with an error could the response be expanded to indicate which cell or item does not have the correct input/formating?

I don't see how IPB could give a more detailed error for a custom field. But you tell it the corrupt input, but I doubt your able to make it accept more then one input, since that would work alot of additional code.
