I don't know if this has been suggested before, I did a search and didn't find anything. Anyways, I think it would be really nice to have a different type of notification for new friends / comments and friends / comments waiting approval. I have it set to PM for me and it really fills up your Inbox fast. Obviously it would do the same for emails. Overall, it is a bit annoying.

Maybe I small little message could appear under the member bar alerting you that you have new comments / friends or comments / friends awaiting approval? It could only appear once or you could add a little X button or something in which the message will stay there until the user clicks the X button. Having My Assistant popup each time I get a new PM due to the profile notifications is very annoying.

Why don't you just allow people to add you to their friend's list without requiring your approval? I had emails requiring my approval, so I just turned it off so as anyone could add me without my intervention. I'm a friendly guy though!

Well, a lot of people might want approval, like me for example. Especially with comments.
