Once the Yearly licenses are no longer available... they are no longer available. (that doesn't happen Oct 1 btw - it happens with 2.2's final release)
The scenario is like this: if we implement the new pricing (as an example) Oct 15. Let's say your Yearly expired back in August. Well that means you do not have any active license and since Yearly is no longer available well your only option is really to buy a new license.
That's why we are giving everyone time to decide

I guess another way of saying it is like this.... If the only thing on your account is an
expired Yearly license well then you don't really have anything but a note that you
used to have something.
