Seen this before, it makes me laugh every time I watch it. I suspect it's staged but an excellent clip none the less. biggrin.gif

I am tempted to try this if I ever come across a mean driver like that on the road to see if it actually works or not. laughing.gif And if it is real, you have to say the guy certainly took it in good spirit - I guess he realised he deserved the response. original.gif

I think that aribag one was staged, the bag doesn't inflate quick enough, BUT, they can be set off quite easily as I found out a couple of years ago in my SAAB.

I pranged a car in front of me, there was a massive BANG! everything went white and I thought both cars must be a right mess.

I got out of my car with my ears still ringing and walked quite dazed to the car in front to see that there wasn't a mark on it, then I looked at the front of mine to see exactly the same, not a mark. I deflated the airbags and drove to the SAAB garage to get a price to replace them. For the two air bags, and two seat-belt retentioners (because the shot in to the floor of the car at the same time) I was quoted nearly £4000 plus VAT and labour. The insurance wrote the car off saying it was beyond economical repair.

Airbags aren't supposed to activate except in response to a heavy frontal impact, so I'd guess it was staged. No harm in that though. It's a good one. (zebra crossing looks pretend as well)

Slightly off topic (but only just) the regulations for storage of airbags say they need to kept in a locked metal cabinet, so this may mean they are not totally trusted not to go off when they're not meant to. A friend of mine doesn't seem to care about that. He sells them online and sends them through the post. unsure.gif

Staged! I've never seen an old lady fall asleep standing up while waiting to cross the street. rolleyes.gif

Does your friend go around at night masked and armed with a crowbar and toolkit? Airbags in some vehicles are more common thefts than audio systems. As the person with the SAAB can attest to, they are quite pricey and in demand.
