Ok I have heard from numerous staff in various places that converge will be worked on after 2.2.x is released. Well its that time when its been released, and well why is this product sitting in the dust in the back of your hard disks? I remember when there were something like 50-60 bugs, now there are 72. Most of them are repetitive and probably could be fixed easy. Someone of them are pointless, but who's project is this?
Questions 1) What is the status, is there a new version being developed, or is it untouched?
2) Are there new features to come out with it?
3) Who is responsible for the bug reports? [http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?autocom=bugtracker&code=show_project&product_id=15]
Nothing special, but I mean some people like me that see a use for it would really like to use it, and see it progress.

1) We are concentrating on some of the other products we're working on right now.
2) Probably not any new features for the first release. No way to tell for sure yet though.
3) Bugs are addressed by Matt and myself, primarily.
We haven't forgotten about Converge, and updates will be forthcoming, but right now Matt and Josh are working on something together, so our attention is focused more on the products we HAVE released final for the time being.

Of those 72, only about 15-20 were active/unfiled/confirmed - there were several already fixed.
Now there are 2 unfiled, and 8-9 confirmed.

Do you have enough staff to work on these these projects or is invision over announceing products with out have the development staff to back them up?? This it what it seems like to me, my god Brandon you are all over the map here with all the stuff your doing i don't see how you have time for anything. Does Invision need more programers to get Converge, Dynamic, Nexus and Vecura to see the light of day??

As has been stated previously, Vectura has been put on hold. Dynamic and Nexus are still being actively developed - Matt and Josh handle those.
I work on the Download Manager (which really requires little maintenance at it's current stage, and there are few features people require that it lacks, thankfully), the Gallery and IPB. Converge is a joint project Matt, myself, and Josh work on together.
It has been stated already that perhaps some of our product announcements were made a bit early, however we are working on all of them, and more information will be available when the time comes.

Brandon you keep saying you're concentrating on other projects as if that is just fine when it was said all along this would be released alongside 2.2!

The beta was released alongside 2.2.
It's a new product, and you have to expect that it may take a while to "get it right". Right now, for example, the language support is lacking greatly. We wouldn't be able to release it final until that is fixed.

I know but most times when you have described it, you describe it as a simple product, compared to others, so I don't see why it wasn't just taken care of first. This was really one of the main things attractive for 2.2 in my opinion.

Because when we have thousands of IPB customers waiting for IPB bug fixes, and no Converge customers (since it's not officially released), IPB takes precedence.

Like you always say, IPB will always have bugs because all major software does.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't focus on fixing them prior to working on a new product.

^^^ Well then have someone fix the bugs and have someone else work on Converge!
I was more than Happy with ipb 2.1, but i upgraded for converge only to find it useless and buggy as hell!
You SHOULD have a person per product and focus on ALL products.

Yeah converge was a big reason I was upgrading too and I assumed they would have updated versions weekly like was the case with the other software and there has been 1 release and not any other in months now.

But at the moment, you can only use IP.Board with Coverage; there building on the other platforms that allow Converge to be used as a greater feature.
I'm assume there will be updates soon

We will release updates when they're ready.

I apologize that Converge isn't being updated as fast as you would like, however we are taking a more "get it right the first time" approach. What would be the point of releasing an update for Converge this week, only to find out we need to totally recode the entire system because Nexus and Dynamic have changed?
I know you want the software - but there should be no release date or update expectancy for *(ANY) beta products.

Dammit Brandon, why haven't you and Matt been pumping all your time into cloning yourself a few times in order to bow to the wishes of a few who need a product NOW!

Sheesh guys, calm it down a bit. Very little software gets released on time. Deal with it.

IP.Converge Beta 1 was released during the final stages of IP.Board 2.2.0.
We're fixing the reported bugs, working on some suggestions, tightening security and gathering documentation. It's hardly stagnating or pushed to the back of our development projects.
Right now Josh and I are focused on getting IP.Dynamic and IP.Nexus finalized while Brandon maintains IP.Board, IPB.Gallery and IPB.Download Manager.

you leave out that it was said it was planned to be released alongside 2.2 and it was never siad that it would only be in beta form when it was. Not like we just said hey we want this product when we decide we should ahve it. We both had the impression it would be out at that time. Mys ites are so dead, who cares anyway. But I still would like to use it and just being sure it isn't forgotten becuase it;s been a long time.

Steady on now!
IP.Converge was released when we said it was going to be released. I can't see how anyone expected us to release a 'final' product on the very first release!
IP.Converge is still in development and we're planning future releases as we speak.
Accusing us of not "being true" is ridiculous and insulting. All of our staff work incredibly hard to meet our customers demands with both development and support and uninformed ad-hoc comments such as the one above are both undeserved and uneducated.
