Full Version: Not able to Connect

I never get answers about converge at IPS, so I rarely post there for help.

I try to connect to a site but this is the error i get:

"Could not establish a connection with www.sitename.com"

Thats all it says. I have the information right (triple checked it), and the I know there is nothing wrong with converge because it added my site fine. Could there be something wrong with his host? What would "make" it not connect? Hotlinking? Wrong domain name or something? I have tried so many things (made sure it was the first account made when ipb was made, made sure it was root admin, and made sure i had the email of the account correct), but to no avail.

So im just asking if there is something "known" that stops it from connecting to sites, and if there is something that I can do about it to fix it.

Thank you for your time. And sorry for posting here, but I really get no help on IPSBeyond about this.

As far as I know, there is no support for Converge as it is still in Beta.

Nobody on IPS Beyond will be very useful with Converge because very few people are using it - it's still a beta product. wink.gif Likewise, we don't offer support for Converge, and we don't allow support topics in our feedback forums.

I can tell you, the order you made your admin account in IPB doesn't matter. It sounds like you don't have allow_url_fopen enabled, or socket support enabled, or something to that effect. There is a setting to disable sockets - you could try that. If it doesn't work, you'd like need some php.ini changes to allow Converge to work on your server.
