Has anyone tried the WINTER special, Double Quater Pound Cheese burger, something like that... I must admit its quite good. Usually MCD can be compared to rubbish but that burger acutally was quite satisfying.

I don't get why it is called a double quarter pounder. Why not just call it a half pounder? Or does a half pounder have to be a full half pound lump of meat to qualify?
Anyway, urgh, urgh, urgh and urgh. How much fat is in one of those? Here, here for the person who said about clogging arteries. Just what the UK (and certainly USA) needs with the current obesity issues!

For men, that one burger contains just over 50% of your RDA for calories, 50% of your RDA for fat, 99% of your RDA for saturated fats and 50% of your RDA for salt.

I believe that's a delicacy in some countries.
What's wrong with going the market, getting fresh fruit, veg and meat, benefiting your taste buds and the people who supply it? McDonalds is just like smoking. It's a bad habbit.
Have it once in a while, however.

I am guessing, that just like you said, it is because you get two pieces of meat each one being a quarter of a pound instead of one piece of half a pound.

No where did he say he doesn't have fruit and veg; or even imply that he has McDonalds often, in fact he implied the opposite

For the record, yes I agree with healthy eating, but preaching to people for just mentioning fast food isn't going to get them eating healthier food and the last time I had anything from McDonalds would have been 9-10 months ago.

I don't really think it's a case of healthy eating much... I'm not a health freak. I eat burgers and so on. But it's the fact McDonalds is trash food, with trash practices. I love Pizza Express which is anything but healthy, and I love proper burgers. But McDonalds really is just rubbish. I'm not lecturing anyone about it, I just don't understand why people would spend money on it when there's better (in terms of quality, whether you want it healthy or not) alternatives.

I, and others I know, eat quite a bit of fast food. None of us are unhealthy, or even borderline overweight. It's not the food you need to worry about, it's the exercise. Sure, eating McD's and other fast food and then playing video games for a couple hours is bad for you... But exercising every-so-often helps a great deal.

I agree with you. McD's is at the bottom of the fast food chain to me. I love Chick-Fil-A's chicken sandwich with no pickles, and their waffle fries - it's very good, and I always get that whenever I go to Chick-Fil-A.

Arby's is good, I always get their any five items for $5.95 deal, and I like that. I never really go to Wendy's. I also like Whataburger and Sonic a lot, as they both serve some good food as far as fast food is concerned.

The main reason that McDonalds is so popular is not because of food quality (Wendy's owns hamburgers, Subway owns healthy(er) eating), it's just how available it is. Drive around here and you will see at least 1 McD at least every 2 km.
