We had Glastonbury, then the Diana concert and now it's Live Earth. Thanks to live coverage on TV it's another day filled with hours and hours of live music. Woo! biggrin.gif

I've been watching it for most of the afternoon on BBC Two and it's been fantastic, lots of great acts.

It's now on BBC One and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers are being awesome, the BBC will possibly get a fine for Chris Rock's language at 17:35 though.

Yeah RHCP were amazing. Same with Black Eyed Peas as well. original.gif

I'ms justs saysin is all...

I find it hilarious that Al Gore says this event is, "Carbon Neutral."

The truth is the only way to stop our accelerating pollution of this planet is to simply abandon the kind of lifestyles that the participants of this event live.

All in all this event is just making many people extremely rich and creating even more pollution, but hey, at least we're aware that it happens everywhere else around the Earth.

Go Earth!

The one thing I would really want to know is, are these artists really doing it to raise awareness or is it for self-promotion? You can guess what the cynic in me thinks. wink.gif Still, the music is good.

Ah damn, I'm kicking myself because I forgot about RHCP. Bah!! I hope they're on the BBC website or something...

Damn RHCP? Where can I find footage of that?!
Jaime
Bon Jovi's "Living On A Prayer" just now was incredible. biggrin.gif

Great concert.

Although I'm not one of those people conned into believing CO2 is solely responsible for climate change, and that it's the fact that we're coming out of an ice age. Maybe we're speeding it up by a hundred years or so... big deal. It's gonna happen anyway, it's something we've gotta learn to live with.

I didn't think the lineup was up to much, better than the farce that was the princess Diana memorial concert though.

The black eyed peees are awful, RHCP should have stopped years ago.

The problem may not just be speeding it up. The problem is that governments and people generally don't tend to care until it starts to become too late and comes back to bite us in the behind. Yes, CO2 is not the only greenhouse gas that's part of the problem and yes, it can't be stopped (and anyone who things warming can be stopped is delusional), but why make it go any faster than it should. And even if we fail to slow it, at least we can get the awareness out and hopefully see some action on coping with the outcome, instead of waiting for it to hit us full on before we do something.

The RHCP weren't at their best, but were still good.

I recorded it and went to bed, and I'm just watching Roger Waters' set ATM. Dave Kilminster is such a good guitarist. biggrin.gif
