It's going to be hot again here (midwest), up to 91 it looks like.
Thinking of taking the kids to the beach maybe, or a local lake.
What do you do on hot days? Veg in the A/C, go to a pool or lake to swim or what?
Have to cherish these days I think as we don't seem to get as many as I think we had in past years.
Next thing you know it'll be winter again

Its only suppose to reach a high of 80 degrees here but then in the evening we are suppose to have t-storms. I just plan on relaxing in the basement and have the a/c running.

I think topics like this should be banned considering the 'summer' we are currently having here in the UK!
It's not surprising that Matt though it was the 90's decade as 90 degrees

is just a dream for us.

Well we had some thunderstorms a couple days ago, but they didn't last long. Some rain, then it stops and seems to get hotter.

I spent some time in Wisconsin (Chippewa Falls) a few years ago and I have to say that some of your thunderstorms were pretty spectacular!

Yeah I like them. I've heard though that MO has some of the best ones.

Odd, we just had about 15 minutes of thunder then about 53 seconds of rain. Now it's hot and sunny again.

Just for the 'fun factor'....
While I was in Chippewa Falls a few years back on business a bunch of us were having a mid morning coffee and the weather was bright and sunny without a cloud in view. A few minutes later there was a clap of thunder and the heavens opened and down came the rain. A couple of minutes passed and there was a scream and one of my friends jumped up and rushed out......
He came back in a few minutes later, soaking wet, and I mean REALLY wet!
He explained that the reason he rushed out was that his convertible was in the parking lot - with the top down.
Needless to say his car interior was, shall we say, a little damp and it took a few days to dry out properly.
He never quite got rid of the smell either.....

It does that quite often where I am. I have a huge moonroof and I make it a habit to always fully close it for just that very reason

I just don't know how much 70F is in Celsius. But I know how much 32 or 40 is in F.

No heatwave where I am. Been a disappointing summer so far.
On a really hot day though, one thing I quite enjoy doing is going to the supermarket and spending a few minutes around the freezers (where the frozen food is). Just open the door of a freezer and feel the cool stream of air come on to your body. Ahhhh!

The 90s are hot to you people?

It's been raining like crazy where I live in Texas for a long time now, off and on, and never what the forecast says. Just a few minutes ago it was 98 here. As a Texan, I've adapted to stand Texas summers in the crazy heat where it tops out over 100 (one summer we hit 112), in addition to the crazy and unexpected weather we have here.

90s is hot, but we often hit the 100s in August. We used to get more 90s and 100s in July to August but the past few years it's been chillier.
I love the dry heat in Vegas. No humidity so 110 was like 92 here. I loved it.

I'm still not used to it here. We've actually had a surprisingly wet summer so far, considering we usually are in the middle of a 90 day drought.

When it gets really hot here, and I mean temps in the mid 90's or higher, we usually get substantial downpours. Nothing beats going out and standing in the rain, unless of course it's hailing too. It just hurts then

I don't mind the heat so much - but the humidity makes it gross. Was up around 97 (36C) with humidity today - would have been a nice 82 (28C) without it. Throw in some smog downtown and you have a gross day. I sit inside an office all day
