To add to that, lets make it less myspaceish and more greatest journalish so there are guidlines to how and what you can change, and the rest is set in stone.

Not sure I think a user skin that they build themselves would be worth it though. I think something in the range of allowing them to choose colors and images would be fine. Reinventing the blog with custom css? I think you may find those who can't do it, and those who can and are going to make a website full of skins.

and I just see this suggestion has been exising so long, but still do not see it on 1.4 ><

It has been partially implemented - admins can now create custom logos, and through the custom CSS feature a user could potentially link to an offsite custom image if the admin allows it.

To be honest, there are MILLIONS of blogs out there having this BASIC features.

I don't see any obvious reasons of why Blog.IPB still need $$$ with this slow development speed ...

we only have 5-10 blogs to be created so far, if this "temporary" work-around works, we might just purchase blog again

The admin can create custom headers in the ACP now, similar to the dynamic header feature (but you can use your own tile and logo images)

The user can modify the CSS entirely (including changing the header image) if the admin allows it, and/or the admin can create "theme" packs which can use custom headers. There's a lot of different possibilities.
