Maybe I'm setting something up wrong...

I installed IPB on a WAMP server. Works fine and I then create a new folder called converge inside the "forums" folder (note I have tried inside the IPB folder too, because I thought you were supposed to add the converge files to IPB's default install) I run the installer fine and can access the ACP. The problem is when I go to the add new components section no matter what way I type it (i.e. http://localhost/forums or whatever) it keeps saying it can't establish a connection with localhost. Is it only possible to run it on a public site?

Can't be, as I have installed many a IPB on intranet setups like "localhost." Have you made sure your config.php file is properly connecting to wherever you've installed your board? Check the permissions, too.

The IPB install is fine I just need to know what path it needs to add it as a component if converge. That's why it always times out inside the converge because I either have the wrong directory to my board (I don't know how full of a path it wants.) or there is something wrong with WAMP which I also doubt sad.gif

oh well I got it fixed wink.gif It was apparently this issue http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...mp;bug_cat_id=9 and I'm on vista also, so I guess it only excepts the localhost IP rather then the "local host domain". Go figure ...tongue.gif
