Apparently, he's supposed to be one of those "hard talk" type people with little follow through. He actually isn't all that popular at home in Iran, and many political scientists believe that he would quickly recant many of his views and opinions if there was a serious threat of war made upon his country.

Hrm, it doesn't seem that he is as bad as everyone makes him out to be if you are still alive after posting that.

I can't help but think you misunderstood something myself or another member said. No one likes this idiot anywhere. Everyone knows how horrible of a person and president he is.

Also, just FYI, badass us usually a positive name to call someone. Well not really positive, but you usually call someone badass if they are courageous or very skilled at something. Example: Napoleon Dynamite is not badass because he doesn't have any skills.

He's pretty well educated, when MSNBC interviewers tried to trick him into saying something that would put him under the spot light, he was able to flatten the interviewer theoretically speaking. He's just a bit of a weirdo, that and reminds me of a lamb.

Ahmadinejad has a PhD in Civil Engineering and the year he applied for university came 132nd out 400,000 university applicants on the Iranian equivalent of the SATs...

He is undoubtedly intelligent, he just happens to subscribe to a particular world view that even in Iran is considered to be rather off the wall.

Ahh but see now you're confusing intelligence with education. I ask, what is education if not a heightened awareness and appreciation for your field. He's the president of a country and doesn't believe that there are any gay people in that country. I'd say he has quite a bit to learn.

He is probably perfectly aware of the existence of homosexuals in Iran though. Iran has a somewhat schizophrenic approach to homosexuality. My lecturer is Iranian and frequently visits the country and she showed us great huge posters they have up in Tehran advertising anti-AIDS measures. Now obviously I'm not saying only homosexuals spread AIDS but it does suggest something. I suspect that 'homosexuals don't exist in Iran' is probably just the official propaganda line so they can just ignore homosexuality in Iran.
