Hello everybody

I'm about to convert from vb to ib 2.3.. and I need to know one thing before I start the process..
the converter, does copy data from the vb database to a seperate ipb database? keeping the vb database usable as it is.. or does it alter the tables in the vb database, so I need to take backup from it before starting the conversion process?

thank you for your help original.gif

The conversion system copies your data from the vBulletin tables to the new IP.Board database - it doesn't alter your existing vBulletin data/tables in any way.

If you need any further support/assistance please submit a ticket from the client area for assistance as I'm afraid that we're unable to offer support via our company forums!

You will need to speak to IPS Support (no support in these forums) via the phone or a ticket.

I suspect it will only read the VB tables and not drop or alter them in anyway and the data will be loaded into a fresh IPB database.

In anycase, I would always take a backup regardless.
