Hello,
after upgrading to 2.2 a lot of my forum users compain about playing media.
It's not possible to play nearly 80% of all movies in my collection.
I see the problem it this way: Go to the movie - it is connecting connecting and connecting, after 5-10sec (I have dsl 512kbit connection) I see first view (clap) of movie, then it's stoped - sometimes after few minutes it continues but in most cases not.
What could we do?
Is it possible to have such player in Flash like YT has and other different web pages?

Please do something to improve playing medias
best regards,
YacentY

What can I do to improve playing media? wassat.gif You enter in the media type in the ACP yourself, and the HTML code, so realistically you can change the media code to whatever you want...

Like Brandon says, you can allow flash movies via the ACP.

I don't want to have possibility to play flash movies
I would like to have universal system to play: avi, wmv, mov files - now there is many users that complains that there is only black screen.

If you have a ticket in I'm sure one of the technicians will address it as soon as possible.

In my testing all of the movies work, but keep in mind that users can assign mime types and extensions to custom media players which may not play the files properly, different browsers treat the playback code different, and so on. This is why the mime-type area is configurable.

I've made small investigation - and there is not working on all browsers - ie, ff, op
I've replied this ticket and asked to be addressed to You Brandon

thanks in advance

I'm sure if the technicians cannot sort it out they will escalate it to me. original.gif We don't generally just escalate tickets when someone requests to do so without a reason (because otherwise, we'd have a ton of customers asking for the ticket to be sent to me or Matt or Jason or Josh bypassing the regular "chain of command" so to speak).

I'll make sure someone has seen it, however.
