Hello everyone, hope you're enjoying this fine Sunday original.gif Just wanted to remind everyone that today is Remembrance Day - a day to remember all of the veterans of past wars, and to keep in mind the solders of today's wars. Even if your country doesn't officially recognize Remembrance Day, I think we all owe it to our soldiers to remember them, and the huge sacrifices they made to ensure our liberty.

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Went to a local service here, very UK-US WW2 based. original.gif

At Martlesham Health, when it was an RAF base, 74 Americans died (6 whilst serving under the RAF), and 72 Brits. It shows how much of a contribution our American cousins were willing to make.

Ended with God Save the Queen and Star-Spangled Banner.
