For those of you who ever heard of it, They finally decided to upgrade.
Official Site:
http://ipbnuke2.net/ Alpha Site:
http://www.alpha.ipbnuke2.net/ Originally had coded it for 1.3.1.
QUOTE
IPBNuke2 is the next generation of the original PHP-Nuke + Invision Power Board intergration -
IPBNukeBased on PHP-Nuke 7.6 and (for now) IPB 2.15, IPBNuke2 allows webmasters/administrators to use IPB2 instead of the phpBB forums that come packaged with PHP-Nuke.
Currently IPBNuke2 is in beta stage - that means, while almost everything is done there is still some minor work and bug fixing before it should be used on production sites.
Please register, post, and play with things - with your feedback we can iron out any bugs quickly and get into public beta release.
Read the Forum News posts below for more info on what has changed from both the original IPBNuke and IPBNuke2 alpha. IPBNuke2 beta will be available for download shortly, however please do not ask for an exact day/time - simply, it will be released when it's ready.
This like the Etomite CMS was pinned to show good scripts that combine with IPB, any one who feels like talking trash about it, your posts will be removed.

Why would IPS use a PHPNuke, 3rd party, when IP.Dynamic is in development.

The old saying "you get what you pay for" comes to mind.
phpNuke is so secure to begin with, I'm sure that integrating it with your IPB is a great move.

they should have put out IPD before converge IMO.
i think a LOT more people want IPD than converge....
Κeith
Mar 15 2006, 01:55 PM
Not really.
I'm sure that people have come to terms with IPD not being out right away, and have gone through the lengths of writing their own pages. This little piece is all that is needed to make the integration final.

and don't forget IP.D is harder to code, its more of a full CMS while IP.C is just a system that makes them all work together, BTW isn't IP.C Invision Power Connect??

Connect is different.
Also Coverge isn't even out yet so there was no reason not to announce it.

No, i'm saying... Their "initials" are the same Invision Power Converge and Invision Power Connect, so i got a bit confused
bfarber
Mar 16 2006, 07:31 PM
Converge is not really a standalone application - it is PART of dynamic, and nexus, and IPB, moving forward, and as a result it NEEDED to be released/coded next.
It will be available with IPB 2.2, and/or with Nexus/Dynamic, whichever is released next.

IPS doesn't work with 3rd party products/mods, but you might be able to do manual integration.
.Tim_merged
Mar 17 2006, 02:27 AM
Errmm.... I thought someone up there or somewhere else I read that converge can make it easier to integrate with 3rd party products?
Dan_merged
Mar 17 2006, 08:58 PM
It will be easier, far easier... but IPS are very unlikely to release integration modules for third party software, is what Charles C was saying.
bfarber
Mar 21 2006, 10:28 PM
We won't do the integration work for you (or if we do, it will be a custom service), however Converge itself will make integration easier. The other application just needs to support converge which works through XMLRPC - you won't just be hacking some files to read similar cookie values or pull from a separate db table.
.Tim_merged
Mar 22 2006, 02:07 AM
So you'll provide a class that will do it ??
bfarber
Mar 22 2006, 02:59 PM
I'm not so involved with the converge development, so I don't really have much more information on it right now. I have IPB 2.2 of course, but I'm still using internal login with it on my local pc.
You can ask more questions about it in the converge forum on the company forums.
