I'm having trouble finding avatars that will stay in my posts. Some do at first, but then later come up as that little box with an x in it. Does anyone know where I can get avatars that can be used on the IPB forums?

I have the same question about smilies, as I would like to have additional ones.

One more thing: I'm looking for free ones; can't afford to pay.

Thanks.

Just host them on your site and they won't fail.

Metal Frog, I don't have a site just the forums.

Bazza & Tim, thanks for the links.

Still can't find any good avatars that are easy to use. Anyone got any other ideas?

Inside your forum directory, you should see a folder name style_avatars . Inside that folder, make a directory with the name of the type of avatars. Lets say that you have avatars relating to XBOX 360 for example. So the directory name would be XBOX_360. Then put the avatars relating to that inside that folder. Now the avatars are on your site/forums.

The _ in the file name is automatically translated into a space when you get the drop down list to choose which avatar section to look in with your control panel.

Thanks TT.

I don't really know what all that means, not being very computer savvy.

But I will work on it.
