smiley? original.gif

Wierd question I know.... laughing.gif but on my site it is considered a sarcastic smiley .. and you have to be careful on how you use it laughing.gif Anyone else find this? (I tend myself now to see it as a sarcastic smiley, think I Have been brainwashed into it)
BryanG
I consider "rolleyes" to be a "sarcastic" smile myself.
Mark.
For a sarcastic smile, I'd use rolleyes.gif

For the smiley face, it's just a smiley face. I generally interpret it as making a sentance 'soft'. Like...
"That's enough original.gif " is just a gental reminder to go back on topic, wheras:
"That's enough." is more what you put when you're closing a topic

I think its ok , its not sarcastic at all original.gif

I do tend to over-use smilies myself though (both on boards and on msn / aim etc) , most lines have one or more blushing.gif
Depot
original.gif is not sarcastic at all.

shifty.gif getlost.gif rolleyes.gif might be interpreted as sarcastic though.

rolleyes.gif or getlost.gif is sarcastic and yes, I have used them many many times. original.gif is just a smile, don't people on your board believe in smiling?

Compare the current smiley (v2): with v1.3's:

Any of them look sarcastic? I find the current smiley a bit 'odd', but maybe I'm not used to looking at it, yet. fear.gif

It must be my site lol we also think this one --------> wink.gif is a bit a kinkyish (is that a word? ) since it altered
Digi
Since I've been beat on for being blunt in my replies, I tried to use the original.gif smiley to lighten things up. I've been told that my usage of it seems sarcasmic though tongue.gif So it seems that people see it differently everywhere. I'd like a "you're number 1" smiley for some uses though :-"

I reckon the new wink looks better than the old wink
Digi
old wink looked like he is taking a dump :S

To me, original.gif is more or less a generic greeting type smiley.

Of course, I'm spoiled by having so many terrific emoticons to choose from.

For me, gentle would be
A more stern warning would be

JustCuz, I think you could hold a conversation with your smilies. wink.gif
