All I can say is:

Sad gits! People who are that obsessed about sports really need to get a brain cell, maybe two? getlost.gif

Then you are seriously linguistically challenged.

There are a multitude of passionate remarks you could have made, for example emphasing any perceived harm the dog was experiencing.

Do you think more effort should have gone into your post? innocent.gif

Well There's obsessed and OVER obsessed.

I'm obsessed with being good at most sports, really it's something I enjoy and while I know my limit I do think there's a huge difference when people say "obsessed". Being obsessed to the point above is wrong in my opinion but whatever, that's up to them.

The writer of that article clearly doesn't have an understanding of punctuation.

I don't understand why you're getting so worked up, dying the dog does not harm it in any way. The dye was probably just a shampoo-type that comes off at the dog's next bath. No big deal, really.

I think YOU are the linguistically challenged one here, sir / madam. original.gif

I don't see any harm done at all. It may be a bit crazy but I can sure see myself do something like that for my team!

To be honest, we cannot say with 100% certainty the dog didn't suffer as result. A dog isn't exactling going to talk in English and tell you he/she has a body/head pain or ache somewhere as resulting from being exposed to the ingredients. Therefore to me, it was a pretty daft thing to do.
Debbie
I despise people who dye their dogs. It's entirely un-necessary and for their own amusement.

Of course you can tell if a dog is in distress, there are clear signs!

I don't approve of it, but to me it's not that much worse than someone dressing their dog up with mini dog clothes.

I'd expect that from Britney Spears, maybe not for the same reason, but that's horrible. Why didn't they just buy a costume?

That's actually a good question, although I'd guess they prefered to pay for dye compared to a costume..

I don't really see the point in either though,

The thing wrong is that people do not treat animals as animals but as a human being........ sad...

That's how I see it too. The dog probably loved the attention it's getting from it too.

Do women (or men for that matter) experience discomfort when THEIR hair is dyed? I think not.

I seriously doubt the dog suffered any discomfort or pain when he was dyed. rolleyes.gif

For extreme pain and distress yes but not minor ones. It is much different than dressing a dog up because with clothes, they are not exposed to chemicals. Nothing gets into the bloodstream. Chemicals from dyes do get into your bloodstream. Allergies are not always easy to detect.

What makes it worse is that they didn't think things through. Did they actually consider that it COULD lead to the dog being distressed? That it could harm the dog? Maybe they did, maybe they didn't but it certainly didn't stop them from taking that risk - and for what? For a cheap thrill, and I think it is irresponsible.

Generally you can tell if a dogs behaviour patterns differ, if they scratch more often, etc. I really doubt there is much risk of chemicals getting into your bloodstream, and if so I really doubt they are dangerous. How many people dye their hair? Quite a few.

Nevertheless, agreed that they're tw*ts!

Maybe not dangerous but unpleasant. In any case, we don't even know whether the dog did start reacting differently - doubt the owners would actually confess what they did has had an adverse effect. Another thing is, you can't really compare a human with animals - this is why many times when you carry out tests on an animal, you get different results in humans and vice versa. That dog has a much smaller body therefore it can reach the level of toxicity much more easily.

Yep, they are ridiculous dog owners.

i would have gone for pink and purple my self!!! hehe

lol! I've always wanted to take pomegranate juice and dye my friends white cat pink/red for fun... Just because the cat is crazy and will literally destroy anything electronic, especially if it has a cord. He keeps the cat locked up in his room because his room mate is somewhat allergic to cats... He spends every day putting away all his cables so the cat doesn't shred them... And yes, the cat is past the ages of a kitten blink.gif... I went over to his house one day and put my Laptop down leaning against the wall in it's case (good padding) and the cat went strait for it. I had to put it in the other room! He has a plasma TV and sometimes the cat tries to get up on the stand and put it's paws on the screen with claws out! He has to be aggressive keeping it off the stand so it doesn't do that... He's found a way, so far, to keep it from climbing up on the stand.. I think he should hang it on the wall.... The cat is evil! And he wouldn't get rid of it... I think he's gone through at least 5 or 6 destroyed keyboards on his computer... No idea how many mice.... That cat is going to get the shock of it's life some day!

I think that those people should have dyed themselves blue before their dog, then it wouldn't upset me as much. =P

They probably will paint themselves blue, more than likely with chemicals that will hurt them more than the dye that didn't hurt the dog. tongue.gif
